Clinical Mental Health Counseling Graduate Intern (Vision + Call)
Vision & Call Internship Program:
The Vision & Call Internship Program is designed for recent college graduates or 1st year graduate students interested in and/or exploring a call to work in Christian higher education. This internship is a part-time, 10-month (August 1-May 31), grant-funded position.
As part of this program, you can expect to:
- Participate in meaningful, hands-on projects within the department that contribute to the mission of Bushnell University.
- Develop knowledge, skills, and abilities in the field of Christian higher education.
- Receive an $850 per month stipend and a $5000 graduate tuition benefit at Bushnell University.
- Be supervised by an experienced leader who has over 10 years of experience in higher education.
- Engage with senior administration, including members of the President’s Cabinet.
- Be part of a cohort of interns and meet together on a weekly basis.
- Receive individualized career coaching and mentorship in the exploration and clarification of your own vocation and calling.
- Produce a professional development plan and portfolio to launch your career in higher education.
- Attend a retreat with other Vision & Call Interns from around the Pacific Northwest (October 3-5, 2025).
Position Summary:
The CMHC Graduate Intern position reports to an assigned CMHC full-time faculty member and CMHC Clinic Director. Strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to handle persons with compassion and confidentiality, possession of strong technical writing skills (i.e., competent APA skills) and adept computer/Microsoft/EHR skills are essential to this position. Familiarity and adherence to FERPA, ADA, Oregon Administrative Rules, ACA Code of Ethics, CACREP and HIPAA guidelines is required. The position also requires effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform office duties as assigned, i.e., cover front desk, answer phones, schedule intakes, support other clinicians in the Bushnell Counseling Center, assist in the professional operation of the Counseling Center, including reviewing and updating documentation related to Counseling Center Policies. Meet with the Counseling Center Director 1x a week or more often as needed to complete duties of position.
- Attend and support CMHC interviews, internship fair and orientation
- Attend CMHC Advisory board meetings
- Attend CMHC Faculty and Staff meetings and retreats when invited.
- Develops agenda and attends first year seminars for undergraduate students, as assigned.
- Assist Counseling Center director in the creation of training and procedures materials.
- Assist with the annual CMHC Student Survey
- Assist with managing CMHC social media
- Meet with CMHC faculty members for career coaching and mentorship in the exploration and clarification of your own vocation and calling at least 1x per month.
- Support CSI officers and advisor, including helping with initiations and ACEP-sponsored events
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Counseling Center Director and the assigned CMHC faculty mentor
Experience and Qualification Requirements:
Recent college graduate or 1st year graduate student. Strong preference given to those enrolled in a Bushnell University graduate program.

- Familiarity with databases is a must
